Los Angeles Gateway Authority Catch Basin Insert Project |

The City of Maywood is a participant in the Los Angeles Gateway Authority Catch Basin Insert project for the Los Angeles River Watershed. Funding has been provided by the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 and the Clean Water Revolving Fund through an agreement with the State Water Resources Control Board.
A grant was awarded to some of the Southeast cities to install the required NPDES storm drain catch basin inserts from the ARRA stimulus grant monies issued by the Federal Government. The work will take about a year to complete in all of the cities that are involved.

The City of Maywood offers a free WiFi network service to residents, businesses and visitors. Service is a best efflort service and users must comply with the Acceptable Use Policy upon logging on. The coverage us highly dependent upon location and proximity to wireless access points along Atlantic Blvd. and Slauson Ave. Indoor coverage is serverly limited due to the inherent nature of WiFi coverage. You can maximize your connection with an external high gain outdoor antenna.

The I-710 Corridor Project EIR/EIS will study 18 miles of the I-710 Freeway between the Ports of Long Beachn and Los Angeles and the Pomona Freeway. The corridor area encompasses 15 cities including the City of Maywood. This phase, expected to be completed in 2011 will explore possible improvements to the I-710 corridor, along with the impact of these changes to the enviroment and surrounding communities. During the Major Corridior Study, intensive public outreach found that improving air quality and reducing public health risks, improve mobility and assess alternative goods movement technoligies were the three key objectives that emerged for the I-710 Cooridor Project EIR/EIS.
