The City of Maywood Department of Building and Planning is responsible for the approval of plans, inspections of construction work, enforcement of zoning ordinances, and insuring safe and decent housing for the residents of Maywood. Building Inspections may be made the same day as requested if the request is made prior to 9:30 A.M.

The City of Maywood Department of Building and Planning is responsible for current and advance planning activities, the implementation of the Maywood General Plan and the City's Zoning Ordinance. The department is responsible for the approval of plans, building permits, inspections of construction work, enforcement of zoning ordinances, and insuring safe and decent housing for the residents of Maywood. The department is also responsible for issuing certificates occupancy, performing business inspections and monitoring, and ensuring compliance with State Law. Building Inspections may be made the same day as requested if the request is made prior to 9:30 A.M Building permits are only issued Monday-Thursday from 7:30am to 9:30am.
