Residential Rehabilitation Program PDF Print E-mail

The City of Maywood is pleased to invite all eligible property owners to participate in the Residential Rehabilitation Grant Program. The grant is available to homeowners that own property occupied by extremely low, low, or moderate-low income families. Multi-family properties with a maximum of two units may apply for assistance, if the property owner occupies one of the units.

The program’s primary goals are to preserve housing and the quality of older neighborhoods, rehabilitate deteriorated properties, and provide assistance to homeowners to maintain their homes as safe, sound and sanitary dwellings. The funds are available on a first come first serve basis. The funds must be used to first correct hazardous structural conditions; to make improvements considered necessary to eliminate blight; to improve accessibility; or to correct building and health code violations.

 Participation eligibility requirements are:

· Single family residences and residential properties with two units or less.

· Homeowners with annual gross income not to exceed 80% of the County median income for the 2009/2010 fiscal year, please see brochure.

Fair Housing PDF Print E-mail


The City of Maywood has a Fair Housing Program to provide a service that includes investigation of complaints alleging housing discrimination, unsolicited audits, landlord/tenant counseling and dispute resolution. The City contracts with the Fair Housing Foundation (FHF) to resolve tenant and landlord conflicts and to investigate and document housing discrimination complaints. The Foundation's offices are located at 3605 Long Beach Blvd. Suite 302, Long Beach, CA 90802.

First-Time Homebuyers Programs PDF Print E-mail

The City of Maywood currently does not provide any First-Time Homebuyers assistance.

For all other first-time homebuyers interested to purchase in Maywood or within the eligible Census Tract Boundaries, the Los Angeles Community Development Commission (LACDC) offers financial assistance with down payment assistance loans including closing cost assistance, federal income tax credits, and below market rate loan programs. LACDC offers the Housing Economic Recovery Ownership (HERO), Home Ownership Program (HOP), Down Payment Assistance (DPA), and the Mortgage Credit Certificate Program (MCC).
