Community Services Department
The department is responsible for programing and partnering with non-profit organizations to bring special events and programs to the Maywood community. This department also oversees the Community Benefit Fund, which provides grant support for non-profit organizations, local schools, and scholarships.
Southeast Rio Vista - YMCA
The Southeast Rio Vista- YMCA is currently closed for all indoor activities due to State and Local Public Health restrictions. The YMCA is tentatively scheduled to re-open June 21, 2021 the YMCA remains open for the following services:
Distance Learning Program,: to assist children in grades 3rd -12th with homework help and provide them internet access. This program is scheduled from Monday- Friday from 9am-3pm. Contact the Southeast Rio Vista for more information.
Grab and Go Meals: The Y has established a weekly food distribution program to the homebound and the food insecure through their Free Grab and Go Meals. Every Monday-Wednesday 10am-12pm
Dodgers RBI: The RBI program will be offering FREE registration for the youth ages 5-18. Visit dodgers.com/dodgersrbi to register.
Supper Program at the Y: This program will offer children under the age of 18 a free meal at the YMCA starting June 21st. Every Monday-Thursday 5:00pm- 6:30pm
Every Body Plays at the Y: The program will give the youth access to check out equipment at no charge. Participants must present a house key, school ID, or other form of identification to rent equipment. Equipment can be checked out based off of current availability. Program will begin July 1, 2021.
