Jessica Torres was elected on November 3, 2020 to serve a four-year term on the Maywood City Council.
Councilwoman Torres has lived in Maywood for over two decades. She graduated from Bell High School and has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Liberal Studies with a minor in Psychology from California State University Dominguez Hills.
Councilwoman Torres has a professional career as an educator with Los Angeles Unified School District for the past 24 years. Her passion to educate children to achieve the most in life has pursued her to oversee that all decisions are made with the best intention for the residents, especially the children of Maywood. She is committed to being of service to the communities in the Southeast Los Angeles area.
Prior to being elected as council member, Jessica was part of Maywood’s Planning Commission.
