1. Why is Maywood using an outside vendor to process parking permits?

Phoenix Group is contracted to ensure that each household only receives the maximum number of permits (three) and to give the residents a different and accessible way of obtaining the parking permit. Residents may also download the application by clicking here and mailing it in to Phoenix.

Vehicles NOT eligible for an Overnight Parking Permit: 

• Vehicles that are considered oversized, vehicles exceeding 8 feet in height, 6 feet in width or 20 feet in length, any vehicle with a gross vehicle weight over 6,000 pounds, recreational vehicles, boats, and trailers 
• Vehicles that are not registered to the address listed on the permit application, and/or not registered to a person living at the address listed on the permit application 
• Vehicles that are used for commercial, business purposes and with off-road registration

4. Can I get an extension on a citation?

Yes, contact us by phone at (323) 562-5700 or in person. One extension is allowed before the ticket expires and we will extend your due date.

5. What is the fee on a correction for a ticket?

The correction fee is $10. We do not correct any citations, only accept correction payments. You can go to California Highway Patrol (CHP) to correct a ticket. Corrections are done before 4 pm daily.

6. Do I need a parking permit for the weekends?

Yes, a parking permit is required in the City of Maywood every day including weekends and holidays from 2 to 6 am.

7. Do visitors need a permit?

Yes, a temporary guest permit can be issued at City Hall during regular business hours. 

• An application must be filled out.
• Parking of a vehicle cannot exceed fifteen (15) days.
• No fee shall be due or payable.
• No more than two (2) temporary permits shall be issued to a vehicle at any address within any one (1) year period.
